Escapade Backpack: Our old-school rucksack that gets better with age.

Inspired by the old-school rucksack designs of the 80s, the Escapade Backpack has been refined via more testing and ongoing improvements than any other product in the Zorali line.

A multifunctional all-rounder designed to go anywhere

What started as a redesign of our first backpack (the Pioneer Pack), quickly shifted into something much bolder: we wanted a versatile backpack for escapades anywhere. From a stroll in your hometown to trail days in the mountains. A backpack that holds 30 litres in volume, and has 8 pockets, but can still pack down small. One that makes a great carry-on bag for travel, but can also expand to fit a light tent plus gear and equipment due to its versatile roll-top. The Escapade Backpack was born.

Co-designed in collaboration with our customers

The original concept was a bag that distributes weight across your shoulders. Due to community input, in 2024 we added a removeable waistband for days that require a heavier load. We’ve also put a lot of focus on the shoulder straps, designed with plenty of padding and a chest clip to evenly distribute the load. Annnnd, due to feedback from our photography community, we added side straps, which work for tripods, but also for hiking poles or climbing gear. Though we love to dream up new colourways for this two-tone gem, we also love that we can barely keep up with demand for our existing colours. Keep watching this space: given the love we get for the Escapade, and how many we see out there in the world, we can’t wait to keep refining this much-loved backpack for a long time to come.

    Love my new backpack!

    I bought this after much consideration, needing a bag suitable for my office job that can carry my laptop etc, and for long camping trips away.

    I haven’t taken the bag on a camping trip yet*** but I am loving it as a work bag. So much room, really comfortable, and a pretty stylish backpack. The black definitely fits the corporate vibe. And fits my giant water bottle in the pockets!

    Also, had a faulty clip on one pocket, no fault of the company or transport. Customer service on insta was outstanding, they found me a new clip & are sending it to me now!

    A decent Backpack of good quality

    Love that this bag is spacious, functional and good looking. The bright orange colour makes it more visible and hence safer when out in the bush. Craftsmanship is good. The clip for the drinking tube of water bladder is useful. I would like to have an internal zipper bag for keeping one’s wallet etc. Also it would have been better if the straps are in black so it won’t look as dirty when stained by dirt. The biggest issue for me is the strap and buckle for the water bladder. I use an Osprey hydrapak but it cannot be secured in the compartment designed for the water bladder because the buckle and straps are too big, as shown in the photo.

    Great backpack

    It's a big deal for me to buy a backpack because they will be travelling around the globe until they are destroyed. This one seems to be a good one, spacious and safe to carry my goods.

    So far so good, I like it and I'm already recommending it to my friends.

    Good-looking and practical

    I saw the backpack about 1.5 years ago and fell in love with it. Finally a backpack that is practical and also looks good! However, the lack of a hip belt put me off buying it. Because I need it for hiking. And since the backpack is now available with a hip belt, I had to buy it directly. And I'm really happy with it.
